Privacy Policy
Tsunami Privacy · tsunamiprivacy.com · Effective Date: October 12, 2026 · Last Updated: October 12, 2026
Tsunami Privacy exists to get your personal information off the internet, so we hold ourselves to a simple rule: we collect only what we need to remove your listings, we use it only for that, and we delete it when we are done. This Privacy Policy explains, in plain English, what we collect, why, how we protect it and what choices you have.
1. Who we are
Tsunami Privacy is a personal data removal service operated by Tsunami Privacy LLC, a Michigan limited liability company (“Tsunami Privacy,” “we,” “us”), based in Saint Clair Shores, Michigan, USA. We submit opt-out and deletion requests to data broker and people-search websites on behalf of our clients. This policy covers our website (tsunamiprivacy.com) and our removal and monitoring services.
2. The short version
- We use your information only to find and remove your listings and to keep you updated.
- We never sell your information, and we never use it for advertising or marketing to others.
- We share it only with the data brokers we are asking to remove you (plus the few service providers we need to run the service, described below).
- Your information is kept in encrypted, access-controlled storage.
- We delete everything, including your private case email address, when your service ends or whenever you ask, and we confirm in writing.
3. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Identity and contact details: your full legal name, other names you have used, current address, phone number(s) and email address(es).
- Information that helps us find your listings (optional): past addresses, past phone numbers and emails, date of birth, and anything else you choose to share. You decide what to provide; more detail usually means more accurate matching.
- Your signed authorization form, which lets us act as your authorized agent.
- Verification codes and messages you forward to us when a website sends a code to your own phone or email.
- Payment information. Payments are handled by a third-party payment processor, [payment processor]. We do not see or store your full card number.
- Messages you send us by email or through our website.
Information we create while doing the work
- Search results: which websites list you and what they show (which may include screenshots or links).
- Your removal log: every site we searched, what we found, what we requested and the status of each request.
- Correspondence sent and received through your dedicated email address, and any temporary phone numbers used for your requests.
Information from our website
[Website analytics/cookies – describe what the site actually uses, for example: “Our website uses only essential cookies and basic, privacy-friendly visit statistics. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.”]
4. How we use your information
We use your information only to:
- search data broker and people-search websites for your listings;
- submit opt-out, access and deletion requests on your behalf and follow up on them;
- keep your removal log and send you updates, your final report and (if you purchased monitoring) your check-in results;
- process payment, answer your questions and provide customer support; and
- comply with the law and protect against fraud or misuse of our service.
We do not sell your information, share it for advertising, use it to market other companies’ products, or combine it into profiles about you.
5. How we use AI – and how we keep it in check
Our work is AI-assisted and human-supervised. AI tools help us do the repetitive parts faster and more thoroughly: searching many websites, matching listings to you, filling in opt-out forms, drafting removal requests and organizing your removal log. A person on our team oversees the work, reviews matches and requests, and handles anything unusual.
- Your information is used by these tools only to perform your removals – not to sell, advertise or build profiles.
- We choose AI providers and settings so that your information is not used to train their AI models and is not kept by them longer than needed to complete the task. [AI provider data settings – owner to confirm.]
- We give AI tools only the information needed for the task at hand.
- AI is not used to make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.
6. Your dedicated email address and temporary phone numbers
For each client we create a dedicated email address on our domain (for example, firstname-lastname@tsunamiprivacy.com). We use it to submit requests and to receive confirmations and replies from websites, so that brokers do not get your personal email. You do not get a login or inbox; instead we send you a detailed removal log (sites checked, requests filed and results) after removal and after each check-in. Where a website requires a phone number, we may use a temporary number. The case email address and its messages are deleted when your service ends or when you ask. If you would like copies of any messages, just ask before then.
7. When we share information
We share your information only in these limited cases:
- With data brokers and people-search websites we contact to remove you – only the information needed to locate your records and process your request, and, when a site requires proof, a copy of your signed authorization.
- With service providers that help us run the service – such as our email host, secure cloud storage, AI tools, payment processor and temporary phone number provider. [Service providers – owner to list.] They may use your information only to provide their service to us and must protect it.
- When required by law – for example, to respond to a valid subpoena or court order, or to protect someone’s safety. Where the law allows, we will tell you first.
We never sell or rent your information, and we never share it for anyone’s marketing.
8. Storage and security
- Client information is stored in encrypted, access-controlled systems [Storage location – e.g., located in the United States].
- Access is limited to the people working on your account and protected with strong passwords and multi-factor authentication.
- We keep only what we need and delete it on schedule (see Section 9).
No system is perfectly secure. If a security incident ever affects your information, we will notify you as required by Michigan law and any other applicable law.
9. How long we keep your information, and how we delete it
- Data Removal ($100): we keep your information until the initial service is complete and your final removal log has been delivered. If you bought Data Removal only, we delete your data within 30 days after your service ends.
- Data Removal + 1 Year of Monitoring ($159): we keep your information through your final quarterly check-in and the end of your monitoring year, then delete it within 30 days.
- Anytime on request: you can ask us in writing to delete your data at any time by emailing matteo@tsunamiprivacy.com. We will delete it within 30 days after receiving your written request. This ends your service.
Deletion covers all of your data in our systems, including your case email address and its messages, verification codes, search results and working files. We will send you your removal log before deletion and confirm the deletion in writing. Copies in encrypted backups are removed within [Backup purge period].
Limited records we keep. After deletion, we keep only the minimal records we are required to keep or need for legal purposes: payment and tax records (such as your name, invoice and payment details), your signed authorization form, and our deletion confirmation. We keep these for [retention period], store them securely, and do not use them for anything else.
Please note: deleting your data from our systems does not undo your removals. Some websites keep a small record of your opt-out (a “suppression” record) so they do not list you again; that is controlled by them, not us.
10. Your rights and choices
Whatever state you live in, you can:
- Access – ask what information we hold about you and get a copy (including your removal log);
- Correct – ask us to fix inaccurate information;
- Delete – ask us to delete your information at any time;
- Revoke your authorization – tell us to stop acting as your agent; and
- Opt out of sale or targeted advertising – there is nothing to opt out of, because we never sell your information or use it for advertising.
To make a request, email matteo@tsunamiprivacy.com. We may need to confirm your identity before acting, and we will respond within [30] days. You will not be treated differently for using these rights. Residents of states with consumer privacy laws (such as California) may have additional rights under those laws, and we will honor them.
11. Children
Our service is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have information about a minor, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we will post the new version on this page with a new “Last Updated” date. If we make a significant change, we will also email current clients before it takes effect. We will not use information we already hold in a materially new way without your consent.
